 NDVI values remain below average in northern New South Wales and Queensland ①, with NDVI curves beginning to reflect crop growth, but still remaining close to the poor 2019 season at this stage ②. Improvement is expected in the coming weeks, but at what pace? To be monitored.

Europe - Are the effects of the intense heatwave being observed in France, England, and surrounding areas?

Yes

 We are currently observing declining vegetation indices across several regions of western Europe ①, with NDVI curves showing an exceptional drop in crop vigor ②, likely reflecting an extremely rapid wheat senescence this season.

Europe - Is the situation improving in the eastern part of the continent?

No

Vegetation indices from Lithuania to northern Romania are showing below-average values in some areas ①. Until now, crops in eastern Europe had generally held up well under dry conditions. However, the recent deterioration in NDVI values may indicate that this resilience is beginning to fade ②.
